I spent the last year learning to machine sew. I really enjoy shopping at Salvation Army and making small alterations or repairs. I also like making playlists, practicing Spanish, life drawing, and writing diaristic texts

Books

I’m a slow reader and usually only get through maybe four books a year. In high school I read 2001: A Space Odyssey and that was the first time I can remember thinking books were cool. There’s still a lot of sci-fi on my shelf from that phase. Looking for patterns, I see three or more books by Moyra Davey, Mary Gaitskill, Chris Kraus, and Clarice Lispector. Moments of voracious reading have included Females, Theory of a Young Girl, Trans Girl Suicide Museum, and any text by or about Bernadette Corporation

Movies and TV

I watch a lot of the international reality dating shows on Netflix. Like any basic alt girly i like Sofia Coppola, Goddard, and Ghibli. The subtitles stay on

Staying active

Skateboarding is my most regular form of movement. Friends tease me for my kill face when approaching a trick and my cheesy smile when I land it. I do yoga and pilates a few times a week. I like to feel strong but I haven’t been inside a weight room since high school. I ride my bike to get around and i carry it up four flights of stairs when I’m done

Eating

I don’t have any dietary restrictions. My favorite flavors are mint, dill, feta, and kimchi. Usually cooking vegetarian because it’s cheap. I do not have a chef’s intuition so I follow recipes pretty closely. Still, I enjoy making food for myself and others. When I was younger I struggled with anorexia. I’ve heard some people with disordered eating habits say it never really leaves you but for me it’s very much in the past

Long-term compatibility

New York

No part of this country makes sense but i think the big apple comes closest. I’ve lived in the city longer than anywhere else in my life. A couple times native New Yorkers have assumed I’m from here. Highest honors for a transplant. I’m not a chaser but i definitely simp for people born and raised in ny. I’d like to grow old here

Family planning

I want to be a mom one day. I feel very open to all permutations of child rearing including co-parenting, step-parenting, foster care, and adoption. I’d love for a romantic partner to be part of that child’s life but if children aren’t for u that’s okay. Just know at some point I may pursue involvement in a non-conventional family unit

Stability

I like to fantasize about a sustainable, stable future that involves a full time teaching position in New York and owning an apartment with a primary partner
